Te-An Lien, two-time Luge Olympian from Chinese Taipei, also known as Taiya Eagle, will not miss out his third Olympic trip as being one of candidates for the IOC Athletes’ Commission election in Beijing 2022.

As a basketball lover since childhood, Te-An never dreamed he would develop his sport career in luge, representing Chinese Taipei in two Winter Olympic Games, one Winter Youth Olympic Games, and numerous international and continental events. Despite very limited resources and not suitable climate conditions for winter sports, he determines to devote himself to luge and tries every means to gain training opportunities all around the world, whether on dry land or snow. Knowing how hard it is to develop one’s career in “non-main stream sports”, Te-An decides to run for election to the IOC AC Commission soon after his election as member of the 13th edition of Athletes’ Commission of TPE NOC. He is aiming to be the voice of winter sports athletes who share the same issues and difficulties and fight for their benefits.

A total number of 16 candidates are running for the IOC AC election to be conducted during Beijing 2022, and two of them will be elected as new Members of the Commission.
