August 30th, Taipei: The 2020 International Sports Affairs Training Course has marked a successful closing on August 30th with group presentations covering topic on “Sustainability” in response to the current IOC strategy. This year, CTOC enrolled nearly 140 domestic participants registration out of 400 applicants and additional 125 international participants from 19 NOCs were invited to join the course as well.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the course was conducted via an online education platform with physical opening, closing ceremony and group discussion on August 15th-16th and August 29th-30th respectively. The online education platform was accessible for participants during the above mentioned period. One of the highlight on the platform was a congratulatory video message from Mr. James Macleod, Director of NOC Relations of IOC. In order to catch up with the global trend, the topic for group discussion urged participants to explore the possible solutions for organizers confronted with the various impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on the international sports event, also give consideration to the global concerns of sustainable development.

CTOC hosted the 2020 ISATC with thorough sanitation prevention and social-distancing measures. With meticulous preventive measures, the participants were able to conduct group discussions and final presentation in a safe environment.

The closing ceremony was conducted right after the group presentation session, presenting guests including Ms. Maggie Hsu, Director of International and Cross Strait Division, Ms. Frances Yuh-Fang WANG LEE, Secretary General of CTOC, Advisors Dr. Lih-Chyun Sun and Jacqueline Yi-Ting SHEN of CTOC and many more.

During the closing ceremony, Prof. Chih-Man CHANG, Chief Program Director of ISATC said that” The 2020 ISATC has successfully marked a 10th year milestone, CTOC will continue to cultivate more ISATC alumni to be involved in international sports affairs. We truly look forward to another decade of great achievement.”
