Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee Explores Future Development and Cooperation Opportunity with Government, Corporation and Athletes in “Sports Agent Forum”

Taipei, October 29, 2020

With the support of funds from Olympic Solidarity, Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) and CTOC Athletes’ Commission held “Sports Agent Forum” on October 29th after successful experience last month in National Sports Training Center. CTOC always focuses on building an interactive platform for collaboration between industries and athletes, in addition to TOP, official partners, potential sponsors and participants in different area were also invited to the forum.

In the opening ceremony, Secretary General of CTOC Frances Lee said that safeguarding athletes and protecting their rights is the top priority responsibility of every NOC, therefore, CTOC strongly supports CTOC Athletes’ Commission proposal to hold the forum which creates variety of chances for athletes and other stakeholders.

To share the knowledge of Olympic Value, CTOC presented a brief introduction of Olympic Movement at the beginning, followed by a presentation focused on the visual communication design for Chinese Taipei Delegation to 2020 Tokyo Olympics which was revealed earlier this year, highlighting the concept of the never give up attitude and solid spirit from sportsmanship.

In addition, CTOC invited Mr. Hiroshi Kubo, who is now ticket sales strategy adviser for TOKYO 2020, who gave a lecture about how to transfer social value to economic value in sports and the importance of rights in sports business through virtual conference call.

As the 2021 National Games will be hosted in New Taipei City, CTOC also invited the director of New Taipei City Government Sport Office, Ms. Hung, Yu-ling, to share the efforts that New Taipei City has contributed for the Games, and the marketing strategies which could create business opportunity for corporation and athletes.

As the heart of the Olympic Movement, the athletes, including Olympian archer Lei, Chien-ying, and boxer Lin, Yu-ting were also invited to deliver their viewpoints of sports agent. Both agreed that sports agent, as the external resources, is essential for athletes.

This “Sports Agent Forum” was jointly supported by sports associations and enterprises. To spread out the Olympic Value and Spirits, Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee will keep promoting sports affairs to thrive sports industry.
