In the one-year countdown celebration of TOKYO 2020, Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC) reveals TOKYO 2020 Chinese Taipei delegation uniform on Jul 23rd 2020, which includes the sports outfit and formal uniform, designed with elements of traditional culture and significant symbol of Chinese Taipei.
Celebrating the one year to go Olympic Games, CTOC reveals the sports outfit and formal uniform on the date originally belonged to the opening of TOKYO 2020. The uniform is displayed on a runway show, by athletes who have qualified for TOKYO 2020 and Paralympic Games.
In line with the spirit of Olympic Agenda 2020, the sports outfit, sponsored by VICTOR, is made by local recycled fiber and dyed with environmental-friendly pigment, while focuses on functionality involving comfort and breathe. Also, designed with the triangle cut, it implies of symbolic 100 peaks of Chinese Taipei, which means the blessing for all the athletes could be on top and achieve great results.
On the other hand, the formal uniform is planned by fashion designer, Justin Chou. The concept of the uniform merges the indigenous culture of iron window bar with plum blossom badge to stand for Team TPE.
This launch, CTOC also invites TOKYO 1964 Olympian, Professor WU A-Min, who won decathlon gold medal for Chinese Taipei in 1966 Asian Games, to present the new uniform and pass down perseverance attitude to the new generation.
For this 1 Year-To-Go celebration, CTOC expects to unite the whole nation to join Team TPE and cheer for all the athletes. More importantly, by spreading the Olympic spirit in this challenging time with stories behind every athlete.
