牙買加選手 Rushelle Burton 和美國選手 Tamara Clark 曾因接受靜脈注射被禁賽四個月。然而，禁賽決定是在禁賽期滿後才公布的。
上述兩名選手承認在今年 1 月 25 日接受 100 毫升的靜脈注射治療，並自願從 2 月 1 日至 5 月 30 日期間暫停參賽。兩位選手的檢測結果均未發現運動禁藥， AIU 表示， Burton 和 Clark 主動向 AIU 報告了接受的治療，並積極配合隨後的調查。
AIU 認為這些違反運動禁藥規定的行為是非故意的。
自 2005 年起，靜脈注射治療已被世界運動禁藥管制組織（WADA）列為禁用方法。
