Sunny skies and warm breezes set a pleasant scene for the opening of “2020 Wonderland – Dapeng Bay Marine Festival”, an Olympic Day Celebration incorporating marine leisure activities and sailing championships, in the morning of 26th September, 2020.
A total number of 652 competitors took part in the Dapeng Bay National Championships organized by Chinese Taipei Sailing Association. In the two-day regatta, all participants not only rode the waves on their ways to and from the offshore island, Liuqiu, but also convoyed the #StayStrong message through the wind.
The Festival also invites visitors to enjoy an exclusive and chilling Dapeng Bay experience, comprising 10 sessions of marine activities, 10 sessions of yacht cruises, 5 routes of culture and gourmet trips, and numerous scenic spots with stunning views, from 25th September to 4th October, 2020. Chinese Taipei NOC and our tourism authorities strongly encourage people to take participation in various outdoor activities and maintain a healthy lifestyle particularly in this difficult epidemic time.
More than an one-day celebration, 2020 Olympic Day in Chinese Taipei is an ongoing #StayStrong, #StayActive, #StayHealthy campaign initiated and inspired by the IOC to motivate and support our athletes as well as to bring hope and optimism to everyone. Following the reveal of TOKYO 2020 TPE Delegation Uniforms, a collaborative project with fashion designers,“2020 Wonderland – Dapeng Bay Marine Festival” demonstrates an example of successful synergy between this inspiring Campaign and tourism as this NOC’s first attempt, and we will continue to seek more cooperation opportunities with other industries to promote the Olympic Movement to a greater extent.
