August 15th, Taipei: Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee (CTOC), in cooperation with Sports Administration, Ministry of Education, is hosting the “2020 International Sports Affairs Training Course (2020 ISATC)” through an online platform starting from August 15th-30th. This year also marks the 10th anniversary of this highly popular training course among national sports federations in Taiwan.
The 2020 ISATC launched via an online education platform, enabling participants to learn from distance despite the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, CTOC has extended the invitation to its NOC counterparts to take part in English courses. CTOC has received more than 100 international participants from 19 NOCs this year.
In the video message to CTOC from Mr. James Macleod, Director of NOC Relations, International Olympic Committee, he not only encouraged the athletes to stay active during the pandemic. He also stressed that” The need for learning innovative techniques, exchanging experiences, and improving the way we manage sport is ever more critical. This is why it is so encouraging to see the many National Olympic Committees have embraced new technologies and the newly found opportunities to reach out to wider audience and help them upgrade more sports administrators’ skills and know-how.”
2020 ISATC speakers include former IOC Member Mr. Ching-Kuo WU, EB Member of OCA Dr. Kevin CHEN, Advisors of CTOC Dr. Lih-Chyun SUN, Ms. Jacqueline Yi-Ting SHEN and many other experienced experts specialized in the sport industry covering topics on International Sports Organization, Current Trend of Sporting Affairs and Olympic Model, etc.
President Hong-Dow LIN of CTOC stressed in the opening remark that “CTOC has successfully cultivated more than 500 ISATC alumni from the previous 9 editions. The ISATC alumni has benefited from the training course and therefore been involved in international sports affairs. We hope to carry on the experiences and continue on to inspire more young generation to join the international sports affairs.”
