Chinese Taipei Women’s Tug-of-War Team wins IWGA highest vote among Asian teams

The Chinese Taipei Women’s Tug-of-War Team, which secured gold medals for the third time in a row (at the 2005 Duisburg, 2009 Kaohsiung and 2013 Cali World Games), was voted the second best IWGA Team of the Year and the best team in Asia.
IWGA launched the polls of Athlete of the Year and Team of the Year in the beginning of 2014. Fans voted online to choose the best athlete and team according to their achievements in 2013 Cali World Games. The USA Flying Disc Team achieved 16,744 votes won the title of IWGA Team of the Year. The Chinese Taipei Women’s Tug-of-War Team came in second with 13,945 votes, and won the highest vote among Asian NOCs. It’s also a very important milestone for the promotion of women and sport in Chinese Taipei.
Other vote results boast of Mongolian sumo athlete Naranbat Gankhuyyag, ranking the second of Athlete of the Year with 12,744 votes, and Aerobics Group of China as the 10th Team of the Year with 103 votes.
