The cross-strait Olympic Committees conducted an online seminar on the topic of water life-saving on 29th September 2021.
The seminar focused on the four main themes of “lifeguard training”, “lifeguard verification”, “lifeguard practice” and “lifeguard management”. The Vice President of Chinese Taipei Olympic Committee, Mr. Chen Shi-Kuei (陳士魁) and the Secretary-General of Chinese Olympic Committee, Ms. Song Ke-Xin (宋克勤) presided over the opening ceremony. The invited guest, Ms. Zhao Chang-Su (趙昌恕), deputy chief of the Sport for All Section of the Sports Administration Department, delivered a speech on behalf of our sport authority.
The lecturers are as followed, Wang Ying-Zhou (王英州), Secretary General of Taiwan Swimming Life Saving Association, Professor Lin Ji-Xuan (林季嬋) of Kaohsiung University and Professor Huang Gu-Chen (黃谷臣) of Tamkang University. 3 speakers from the cross-strait are Shen Wei (沈偉), President of Shanghai Swimming Life Saving Association, Ji Hong (吉宏), Vice President of Shanghai Swimming Life Saving Association, and Xie Yao-Ming (謝耀明), Director of that Association. During the seminar the interactive discussion with our 40 local participants on professional theory and practical experience was the most productive result. Aiming to create a safer and better environment for water activities, the seminar accomplished smoothly and successfully through the cross-strait water life-saving professional and technical exchanges.
